故事发生在一处破落的垃圾场内，夜幕降临，垃圾场内空无一人，静谧非常。中央处的小木屋内，房间内的设施摆放有序整洁。少顷，德鲁比轻巧地走进房间，路过收纳箱的时候，他穿戴整洁，拿着一张比较热闹的爵士乐播放起来。德鲁比闻歌起舞，快乐非常，但是附近的管理人员却烦恼不已，他最终将德鲁比连同唱片一并扔了出去。没有办法，德鲁比只得去城市寻找知音，他先后邂逅咖啡厅、街头卖艺者、冰淇淋车、游乐场的旋转木马，只要有音乐的地方他都要设法播放喜欢的爵士乐，可是大家都不喜欢，纷纷把他赶走，甚至到了最后，他所心爱的唱片都被摔碎了，坚强的德鲁比终于落下泪水。
就在此时，不远处传来熟悉的旋律……
