剧情：
年轻的女孩，Roby（Ashley Judd饰），在旅游淡季的时候来到了弗罗里达州的一个度假村，她想在那里开始她全新的生活。她在那里的一家旅游纪念品商店找到了一份营业员的工作，这家商店是由Mildred Chambers经营的。Roby在那里的时候和Mildred Chambers那成天不切实际地幻想的儿子Ricky Chambers（Bentley Mitchum饰）约会，俨然一对热恋中的爱人的样子。但当Ruby得知Ricky只把自己当作他的众多征服对象中的一个时，她毫不犹豫地和他分了手。后来，她又和Mike（Todd Field饰）坠入了爱河，Mike是一个左翼的暖房工人。随着时间的推移，渐渐的，Roby和周遭的人的关系以及她自己的内心都发生了翻天覆地的变化。等待着她的是种种艰难的选择和沉重的发现。
