珍玛（杰玛·阿特登 Gemma Arterton 饰）和丈夫查理（杰森·弗莱明 Jason Flemyng 饰）结婚多年，两人生活在一座民风温和而又淳朴的小镇中，日子在平静里缓缓流逝。查理是一位性格十分内敛的木匠，而珍玛则是一名画家，虽然查理平日里对珍玛照拂有加，呵护备至，但珍玛的内心里却总是渴望如同暴风雨一般猛烈的感情。
