◎简　　介

故事发生在第二次世界大战期间，英国士兵埃里克（科林·费斯 Colin Firth 饰）被日军俘虏，被押送往泰缅铁路做劳工。埃里克偷偷藏起了一台无线电，通过收听电台，他得知日本在战争中早已经是强弩之末，蹦跶不了多久了，他和他的战友们就这样依靠着这一点点的慰藉和希望坚强的活了下来。
最终，埃里克的秘密还是被日军发现了，他们对埃里克进行了惨无人道的折磨，这给埃里克带来了巨大的精神创伤，这创伤直到战争结束三十年后，埃里克组成了自己的家庭之后依然分分钟影响着他的生活。某日，埃里克得知当年参与折磨自己的一位名叫长濑隆史（真田广之 饰）的军官依然健在，他决定去拜访他。
