刚刚结束监狱生活的本（保罗·沃克 Paul Walker 饰）回到了妻子和女儿的身边，长久的分别让他明白了什么才是生命中最重要的东西，在下半生中，本决定要永远的陪伴在妻女身边。由于坐牢的经历被揭发，本失去了工作，一时间，全家失去了最大的经济来源。本的弟弟告诉本，有一桩生意可以带来一笔巨大的财富，可是这笔生意是违法的，迫于生计，本再度走上了犯罪的道路。没想到，本来万全的计划失败了，弟弟当场死亡而本也被判了死刑。
镜头一转，本正在前往天使岗的路上，在那里的一家医院中，本担任着园丁的职务。不久之前的悲惨经历还历历在目，本似乎获得了第二次生命。但是，在这条生命中，本将永远的无缘再见到自己的妻女，而就在伤心的本决定离开天使港之际，一个天使出现在了他的面前。
