◎简　　介

江户末期，已有250年未曾发生过战争，贫穷的武士们，有人因此选择离开藩属，成为流浪的武士或是浪人。都筑杢之进（池松壮亮饰）也是其中一名流浪的武士，他来到江户近郊的一户农家，帮忙干活，换取粮食维生。为防自己的剑术日益生疏，他一方面每日挥汗练习，一方面利用木刀传授剑艺给农家子弟市助（前田隆成饰）。市助的姊姊小优（苍井优饰）面对两人终日热衷於剑术，总是冷眼相待，却也和杢之进彼此的情愫渐生。当时日本因外国黑船来航，要求幕府结束锁国政策，长年的太平之势，开始出现动汤。小优最担心的事情莫过於杢之进前往中央参与动乱，那表示他和弟弟赔上性命的日子也逐渐逼近。
