先天残疾的郑丰喜（秦汉）自幼身残志坚，年少跟随行走江湖靠耍猴卖药糊口的赵老伯迁徙流浪时，不忘刻苦读书，最终以优异成绩考上中兴大学的法律系。而他将自己的经历化为文字刊发在报纸上后，其坚强奋斗的毅力和精神感动了许多人，同校同系的女同学吴继钊（林凤娇）即是其中之一。

机缘让郑丰喜和吴继钊认识后，两人在交往过程中慢慢生出了真情，可是因为郑丰喜的身体条件，这段感情受到多方阻挠，而在他们最终冲破重重阻碍结为夫妻，郑丰喜迎来一段精神富裕的日子后，却被天妒。
