1971年由罗伯特·史蒂文森担任导演的《奇妙飞床》是一部真人和动画相结合的影片，同样被称为动画史上的里程碑。这部影片揽获一项奥斯卡大奖、四项奥斯卡提名及一项金球奖提名，背后有着上百名的动画制作人员和来自乔治卢卡斯“光魔”特效，同时包含了迪斯尼以及其他知名的工作室的心血结晶。

单有卓越的技术并不能造就一个电影的成功，在众多优秀动画设计师的汗水背后，一个吸引人的故事情节以及出色的剧本设计都是不可缺少的环节。故事取自1971年玛丽·牛顿笔下的奇幻小说《飞行万能床》——描述了二战期间英国的三个孤儿和魔法师鲍英丽小姐之间的故事，在经过安杰拉·兰斯伯雷、戴维·汤姆林森等人的精心雕琢之后，《奇妙飞床》凭借精彩的故事以及真人卡通相结合的全新动画形式在世界范围内引起了巨大的轰动。并以区区4500万美元的制作成本，获得1亿7千万美元之多的票房收入，成为当年最卖座的电影之一。影片还被评为1972年美国国家影评委员会十大佳片，并获得1972年奥斯卡最佳特效奖，奥斯卡最佳艺术指导、最佳原创歌曲、最佳配乐、最佳服装设计四项提名、此外还获得金球奖最佳动画片女主角奖。

制作班底星光灿烂
