根据BBC电视剧《Doctor Who（神秘博士）》改编。一名叫做Tom Campbell的警察在个平常的日子里无意中闯入了TARDIS（全称译为“空间中的时间和相对尺度”，是种可以穿越时空的太空船，本来外形可以随所在地的环境变化，伪装成与环境协调的东西，但博士的TARDIS因一次事件，外形固定为1950年的蓝色公用电话警亭），结果被博士带到了2150年的地球。博士和他的助手发现，Dalek们侵略了地球，还把人类改造成机器人，阴谋对地球的核心进行开采。幸存的人们在四处躲藏，避免被改造成机器人。博士把幸存者们组织起来，挫败了Dalek们的阴谋。
