本片跟隨兩位年輕黑人女性主義者、酷兒倡議者的腳步，如實紀錄芝加哥黑人運動的抗爭場景。為抗議被警察殺害的非裔年輕人博伊德、麥克唐納所遭受到的不公不義，當地市民團結起來上街示威。本片也紀錄BLM運動中，較少被提及的「#說出她的名字」行動，為提高黑人女性受害者的關注度，並重申黑人女性在主流媒體中長期被忽視的問題，勇敢發聲。
