◎简　　介

剧情：
30出头的工人马萨，工作热忱，受到老板的赏识，也正因如此，疏远了所有的工作同伴。一天他因为工伤而失去一个手指，一切随之改变。除他以外，所有工人都连成一气对付老板，他自己的生活已呈现崩溃状态，情妇离他而去，妻子离婚后带走儿子，自己又站错队伍，妄信支持大学生们空洞而不切实际的口号，结果遭到池鱼之殃，被老板解雇。集体罢工让工厂不能生产，工人们一面要求修改合约、提高待遇，一面也希望马萨能够复职。后来老板要求马萨在别人罢工期间回来工作，马萨答应，但当他回到工厂门前却无法面对聚集在那里的工人。他在羞愧之余，终于理解了工人们的坚定立场：在事件没有得到合理解决之前，决不妥协。
幕后制作：
本片获戛纳影展金棕榈奖。影片包含了许多社会现实元素，是一部有时代特征的政治电影，通过马萨这个“迷惘的工人”，再现了那个时代里人们陷入革命理想与现实困难的两难处境。整部电影延续了导演《查案记》的主题和风格，却将视觉转向了探索工人阶级的心态变化和心理活动。
