她，Anne Gauthier（阿努克·艾梅 Anouk Aimée 饰）是一个寡妇，独自抚养着她的女儿。她是一名电影场记，丈夫是一个特技演员，在拍摄一场戏的时候不幸丧生。她每周都要从Paris去Deauville接送她在Deauville一所学校寄读的女儿。他，Jean-Louis（让-路易斯·特林提格南特 Jean-Louis Trintignant 饰）是一个鳏夫，独自抚养着他的儿子。他是一名赛车手，一场车祸后他的妻子以为他已经丧生而自杀身亡。他每周也要到Deauville去接送他的儿子。有一天，Anne送女儿上学后错过了回巴黎的最后一班火车，因此邂逅了Jean-Louis，Jean-Louis开车送Anne回家，两人约定下周一起去接孩子。下个周日，两人和两个孩子在一起度过了愉快的时光。两个寂寞的男女被彼此所吸引，爱情正在生根发芽。然而，Jean-Louis觉得这段爱情中有些奇怪，而对前夫的思念又让Anne纠结不已......
