一向安于现状的白领青年薛可正（黄宗泽 饰），被陷害导致失业，同时拍拖多年的女友以娜（邓丽欣 饰）提出分手，一夜间顿时成为双失青年。
在儿时朋友栽（洪天明 饰）和刚刚出狱的弟弟可勇（陈伟霆 饰）介绍下，误打误撞进入一金融公司成为黄金经纪。兄弟二人见识了这一行的人生百态和金钱 的丑恶；可勇在公司更认识了后来成为太太的姚静悠YoYo（陈嘉桓 饰）；正当薜可正事业刚刚有起色，家中父亲因癌症去世，兄弟二人大受打击。 薜可正拒绝父亲的好友帮助，离开金融行业转为经营卖烤串的小摊档。在创业初期，薜可正认识了刚烈女子安儿（赵荣 饰）。因为看不过眼安儿的儿子思倪（陈学文 饰）给前夫虐待，毅然帮助安儿和前夫争夺思倪的抚养权。
