《明日之歌》是美国著名导演莱奥麦卡雷的诚意之作，入列英国《视与听》杂志评选的电影史上被忽略的75部佳作榜单。莱奥麦卡雷和刘别谦,斯特奇斯是美国有声片早期最重要的三喜剧导演,中国观众都很熟悉的《金玉盟》《鸭羹》（1931）、《春闺风月》、《风流韵事》与便出自该大师之手。而《明日之歌》被很多人认为是他最杰出的作品.。据说间接启发了小津安二郎不朽的《东京物语》，两片并看，别有趣味。
