本剧由Carlton Cuse和Graham Roland创作，根据Tom Clancy的小说改编，不过本剧将不会是原著小说的直接改编，而是将这个CIA分析专家和侦探的角色作为原型再创作。剧中讲述Jack Ryan找到恐怖份子沟通的模式，幷引领他进入这场能威胁全球的危险布局之中。
