这是ABC续拍的经典提线木偶剧，它采用了现代视角和「伪纪录片」的叙事方式。该剧将聚焦布偶的个人生活和相互关系，包括他们的家庭生活和他们与人类的互动。当然，还有爱情关系、分分合合、成就、失望、理想、欲求……等等。总的来说，这是一部更加成人化的《芝麻街历险记》，适合各种年龄的孩子（当然也适合成人）。复兴该系列是《生活大爆炸》（The Big Bang Theory）制片人Bill Prady的主意。
