CBS早前直接预订新剧《吃脑外星人》，该剧将入驻2016年CBS夏季档。该剧由《傲骨贤妻》的Robert和Michelle King当任制作人和主创。《吃脑外星人》为一小时搞笑恐怖剧。讲述一名热血女青年Laurel（Mary Elizabeth Winstead饰）在华盛顿开始她人生第一份工作，在国会山任职，却意外发现美联邦政府已经瘫痪。因为一群外星人不断吃掉国会议员和其他国会山员工的脑子！该剧被誉为《白宫群英》和《血族》混合体。
