北京的九道弯胡同弯弯曲曲九道弯，从小一起在胡同里长大的杨树茂、叶菲、史小娜、赵亚静，恰恰也经历了人生情感复杂坎坷的九道弯。故事从一九七九年冬杨树茂知青插队返城开始……
史小娜是杨树茂的初恋，但好景不长，父亲特意将女儿送到香港读大学.....叶菲知识分子家庭出身,舒雅文静品行端正，是影响杨树茂世界观形成的关键人物。杨树茂在家被父亲称谓“傻茂”，典型的老北京家庭，母亲似乎最“讲理”，把子女们管得服服帖帖。
杨树茂（@韩东君ElvisHan 饰）为了追到史小娜（@陈瑶Sebrina 饰），和哥们儿一起放弃铁饭碗，去广州找小学“同桌的你”赵亚静（@种丹妮 饰）。没想到情商低智商高的杨树茂是做生意的“材料”，一年就在广州立住了脚。
赵亚静对他有爱慕之心，无奈有个史小娜挡道。天赐良机，史家父亲第二次出手“制裁”杨树茂，让杨树茂彻底感悟到社会阶层差异，与史小娜渐行渐远，可令赵亚静没想到的是，她一直暗中笼络杨母（@萨日娜srn 饰），杨母已认定她是未来的儿媳。但此时的杨树茂和叶菲（@热依扎 饰），几乎同时发现他俩才心心相通，是最知己的人生伴侣，这种情感一旦涌出，海誓山盟，二人准备结婚。可事情并不那么容易，他们要面对“手腕极高”的杨母，杨树茂就是有天大的本事也逃不过母亲的手掌。
杨树茂和叶菲坎坎坷坷二十多年，命运转了九道弯，两人之间的爱情经受住了时间的考验，终于过上幸福的生活。
