一个年青的富有女子在新几内亚从事出口贸易，她过着沉闷的生活，所以在采购颜色鲜艳的羽毛供出口用时，她决定和到探险队一起探访终日被迷雾笼罩的山谷。 (由于山谷常年都有浓雾，和没被人探访的原因，所以没有地图)在路上，她经历了60年代的公共生活模式，开拓视野的土人事物和刺激的性体验（这些都是 Barbet Schroeder电影常见的元素。）同时她还体验了新几内亚土著居民的部落生活方式。　　本片与科波拉的《教父》几乎同时开始制作，漫溢着后六十年代文化群落的无信仰冒险和神秘秀丽，通过电影摄影师绝世的透镜，嬉皮似乎温和的肉欲感充斥全片。并且高潮遭遇与原始部落保留的强烈的穿越文明的奥妙。平克弗洛伊德乐队的电影配乐作为背景气氛，有效地提高神秘味道和影片的大气。
