因为一个小意外，比利发现了潜意识中对芭蕾的热爱，而挑剔世故的芭蕾老师威尔金森（朱丽?沃特斯 Julie Walters 饰）无意中发现了比利极具芭蕾天赋。二人一拍即合，威尔金森甚至放弃她的一班女学生，把全部心思放在培养小比利上。可是比利的家庭全然不理解儿子为何爱上女生的玩意。比利在家庭的反对下，痛苦的抉择。
然而大好机会就在当前。万一考上伦敦的皇家芭蕾学校，比利的芭蕾梦想将得到一个广阔舞台。比利站在一个十字路口，选择着他的人生。
