简介: 剧情描述艾迪与莫琳是互相深爱着对方的小夫妻。艾迪热情而率性，这样随意的人生态度，反映了当年嬉皮族的一些特色，如今看来却有点跟时代脱节的一厢情愿。剧情转折的关键点，是艾迪因情绪失控开枪骚扰邻居而被精神病疗养院捉进去关了十年，病愈之后，他仍然维持我行我素的本色，坚持要跟已改嫁给乔伊并生下两个女儿的莫琳重续前缘，因为他坚信莫琳仍然爱的是他。而莫琳对于当年救她脱离苦海的恩人丈夫乔伊亦毫无家庭责任感，宁可将自己跟艾迪生下的长女留下来给乔伊抚养，她却要离家回到艾迪身边。这种不愿稳定家庭生活而放纵自我选择的唯我主义，也教现代的观众难以认同。
