一群在越战期间隶属某个特种部队的士兵，在事隔多年后回到越南，重访当年与伙伴并肩出生入死的战场。电视记者凯萨琳马丁也被派往越南，负责报导这次士兵重访越战战场的事件。不料，在拍摄电视影片的过程中，事情却有了出人意外的发展，雷姆西上尉（Casper Van Dien 饰）受到指控，他当年曾经因为报错了轰炸的座标，而导致友军的伤亡。随着影片拍摄工作的进行，当时事故的真相逐渐浮现出来，凯萨琳也一幕幕地目睹了这些士兵重演他们当年所经历的悲剧……
