年轻的突尼斯女孩玛利亚姆在派对上遇到了神秘帅气的男孩尤瑟夫，两人一起离开了房间。尤瑟夫后来得知，玛利亚姆刚刚在车里遭到了几个警察的强奸。尤瑟夫带她去了私人诊所，那里的女接待对她非常轻蔑，拒绝让她在没有身份证明的情况下看医生。两人又去了一家公立医院，医生也拒绝为她做检查，除非他们报警。漫漫长夜里，她必须为自己的权益和尊严抗争。但当公平成为刽子手的砝码，她又该如何获得公平？全片由九个长镜头组成，讲述“阿拉伯之春”之前发生在突尼斯的故事。
