又名《野人泰山》，是有声片时代拍摄的第一部泰山片。男主角是奥运游泳健将约翰尼．韦斯穆勒，与莫琳奥沙利文饰演的珍形成英雄美人的配搭，在三十年代曾轰动一时。剧情描述英国女孩珍与父亲及男友一齐前往非洲找寻大象的墓穴。途中，珍碰到危险失声尖叫，被泰山从树丛中摆荡而出，将她救到树顶。从此，珍便情不自禁爱上了泰山。后来，珍等一行人遭野蛮的矮人族俘虏，几乎成为黑猩猩的点心，幸好被泰山率领一群大象前来救出人质。导演W．S．范戴克将无拘无束的原始生活气息表现得颇为令人神往，外景与森林内搭景的配合也几可乱真。由于本片当年在商业上的成功，男女主角一共拍摄了六部泰山电影。
