这是一个曾经真实发生过的故事。四个人的感情就纠缠在一起，混乱的情欲将每个人推向命运的高潮。在富家子弟根特（奧古斯特·迪赫 August Diehl饰）的别墅中，朋友们纷纷赶来搞湖滨派对，其中有他的好友保罗（丹尼尔·布鲁赫 Daniel Brühl饰），二人约定，活在世上就要寻找最快乐的爱，而这份爱一旦变质，就要坚决了断。

根特的妹妹海迪（安娜·玛莉亚Anna Maria Mühe饰），是个思想开放及时行乐的女子，从不把自己束缚在一个男人的怀抱里。保罗深深爱上了她，却不知海迪对这段感情只是游戏态度。派对狂热举行，这时还出现了另一个人：根特的另一男友汉斯（托尔·林德哈特 Thure Lindhardt饰）。

汉斯对海迪的热情高涨。尽管根特为此不安，汉斯还是对海迪情迷意乱，妹妹成为了根特最强大的情敌。根特和保罗决定让汉斯的背叛付出沉重的代价。根特扣下扳机，悲剧瞬间爆发。
